For your first full week at University you will be provided with an array of events from all quarters, and bombarded with leaflets - but lots of this stuff is really useful! UMSU organises a bustling Students' Fair, more events than you can shake a stick at, while still being a great place to get advice, or some help with problems in your life at university. The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is campaigning at Universities across the country, urging students to protect themselves against identity theft by thinking before giving personal information away. Students are a particularly vulnerable group when it comes to having personal information used and abused! The "Protect and Respect" campaign is currently underway at Manchester University.
