Website

Student Action has a new website!

But this is far more than a lick of paint: all of our projects are now run by a custom made Volunteer Management System, which allows project managers and volunteers access to all the information they need wherever they are, as well as online sign up and an entirely paperless operation.

Our dedicated team is also available to provide graphics design and online solutions for your organisation. For business enquiries please contact action@umsu.manchester.ac.uk.

Biko Bikes

Tuesday to Thursday 6pm to 8pm

Biko Bikes refurbishes old bikes left behind by the university. The restored bikes are repainted and then turned to good use as the first Manchester Bike Pool! £40 deposit and then a charge of only £1 a week for up to a whole semester.

The bike team will also provide weekly workshops for volunteers, set up cycle rides for those who like to ride or improve their confidence (learn to ride). Larger workshops will also be put on for the general public to come to and work on their bikes or the project’s bikes. All renters can have maintenance done on their bike for free as long as they agree to help and learn how to do it themselves.

Meet at the Biko Bikes store room in the Students’ Union basement.

Our project managers are Ellis, Jimmy and Luke.  Just visit there website to find out more and about bike rentals.
