Student Activities

Getting involved with the Union isn't simply a case of picking up your NUS card to use at HMV or grabbing a cheap pint in the SU bar. You are now a part of the largest Student Union in Europe with a long history of campaigning, debating and innovative ideas; it really is something to be proud to be part of.

One of exciting things about getting involved in your SU is the nature and focus of activities is literally changing from one year to the next as new students come in and some of us finally move on. Despite the size of the Union it's surprisingly easy to get involved and not too hard to make an impact. Through getting involved you direct the focus of the Union by joining societies, campaigns or setting up your own society.

Activities

Enter a world of miscellanous wonders and opportunities to get involved in some of the country's best student-led activities from Open Mic Nights, Pangaea, Drama Festival and to society driven awareness weeks.

Media:

Prefer to keep the Union to account or want to get on your soap box, then the student led media we have here is a great opportunity. Fuse FM, Student TV and Student Direct recruit all year round for new writers and presenters.

Doing good:

Whether it's escaping from jail, jumping from planes, collecting money, or beer for charity Rag, and helping fellow students with nightline or helping children, the elderly or the homeless with Student Action, there are many ways to give something to Manchester, and get so much in return.

Follow your Interests:

We have over 200 societies (plus many sports) covering the wide range of interests from Debate to Religion, from Arts to Welfare. Whatever the time of year, and whatever your level of experience or interest, there'll be more than one society for you.
