Student Action Manchester is a student-led volunteering organisation. We support hundreds of people throughout Greater Manchester by ensuring our 27 projects make a beneficial and meaningful contribution.
Students can commit on a more permanent basis or as little as they like.

Student Action Manchester
Here is a brief overview of our projects:
ELDERLY PEOPLE
· Regular socials and monthly film afternoons for isolated elderly people.
· Afternoons trips to exciting places in and around Manchester.
· Fun parties throughout the year, entertainment, live music, games and food for all. What more do you want!
ENVIRONMENTAL
· Students repairing old bikes and making them 'shiny and new again'. These are then rented back to students for £2.50 a week!
· Working in our glorious allotment we plant fruit, vegetables and plants which helps to sustain our other projects.
HOMELESS
· Soup runs in the City Centre and Southern Manchester.
· Providing English lessons for Refugees every Saturday.
LEARNING DISABLED
· Evenings out for adults with severe learning disabilities.
KIDS
· Teaching and assisting children in our after school learning schemes.
· Exciting and adventurous day trips all over the UK with children from homeless and women’s refugees.
· Football coaching and circus skills for children from local primary schools.
WHY VOLUNTEER WITH US?
· A brilliant way to impress future employers by gaining new skills and valuable experiences to add onto your CV.
· We provide all the relevant and effective training, support and guidance for all our volunteers.
· Student-led means YOU decide what projects we run. Have an idea, tell us and we will help you develop, promote and manage new projects.
· Leave the 'student bubble' and interact with a wide range of people from different backgrounds and ages.
· Because it is run by students, Student Action is sympathetic to your studies and will not ask for a regular commitment.
