We will launch a range of student-led activities promoting wider access to Higher Education, working in partnership with the University’s Widening Participation Team. The successful applicant will set up activities that allow current students to initiate and volunteer on projects that contribute to making university more accessible to those who are from backgrounds where few progress into Higher Education.
You will be passionate about widening participation in Higher Education and excited by the prospect of working with and for students. Through your previous experience, you will have a proven track record of turning ideas into successful projects. You will understand how to help volunteers achieve their full potential, and how to empower them to lead their projects. You will have an understanding of the widening participation and access agenda in Higher Education and a solid background in project management and working with volunteers.

The Commercial Department is currently recruiting to the newly created role of Commercial Media Sales Intern to commence employment in June/July of this year. This exciting new position has been developed to support the media sales activity of the University of Manchester Students’ Union.
The role will focus on the selling of advertising space in media outputs against targets. It will offer the successful candidate an invaluable opportunity to develop solid work experience in media sales and market research and give them the chance to work with the Commercial Operations Manager – Business Development, on major events such as Welcome Week and Graduation.
The role requires some previous experience of advertising/media sales, knowledge of industry trends and the ability to apply innovative and creative solutions. Any previous experience of working in a similar target orientated role would be beneficial.
