Manchester Rag
Manchester Rag is the fundraising wing of the Student Union. We raise incredible amounts of money in two fantastic ways:
- Events: these range from daredevil activities like bungee and parachute jumps, to more ground-based ones such as Children in Need, Ann Summers parties, trips to Amsterdam and the Panto.
- Collections: Most weekends we troop off to towns and cities all over the country and collect with a bucket in the street. This offers you a chance to see the country for free, meet new friends and enjoy the well-deserved after-collection parties with other Raggies. We also get the chance to collect at fantastic events like Hogmanay in Edinburgh and Oasis, Elton John and Paul McCartney concerts (to name but a few), meaning we can be there for free!
Through your volunteering with Manchester Rag, often without realising it, you will gain invaluable skills in marketing, publicity, teamwork, and leadership, and at the end of the year, your hard work will be recognised with a Manchester University approved "Manchester Talent" certificate, ideal to show off to prospective employers.
