Bangladesh Students’ Society (BSS) is one of the largest Bangladeshi students’ bodies in the UK. It is an integral part of the University of Manchester Students’ Union (UMSU).
Dedicated to the students at the University of Manchester (UoM), it is active in promoting Bangladeshi cultural heritage in the UK. In addition to building cultural bridges with other groups of students from all over the world, BSS is regularly involved in:
- assisting new Bangladeshi students;
- organizing cultural events;
- arranging get-togethers and day trips.
BSS was established in 1958 as an association of Bangla speaking students and was led by Dr. Sayed Ala-Ud-Din as the founding president at the beginning.
