The whole team of COS wants to thank our former chairman Felix Martin for his hard work which he committed to our society. He was the key figure in formulating its concept, an indispensable source of brilliant ideas during our committee meetings, top-notch in promoting lively discussions and always eager to challenge the norm. Well, the list could go on; but to sum it up: COS would not be ranking among one of the leading societies at Manchester University without his energetic input!

Many thanks go out to Sarah Wakefield who has been a great chair of our society during the year of 2009. She gave the society her own touch, streamlined administration processes, recruited a bunch of new, energetic committee members and instigated many first-class events. Her cheerful and enthusiastic personality was always a guarantee for success when pulling everybody together to kick off the events.
