Hey Everyone! Welcome to Mupsnet.co.uk, the official website for the MUPS organisation. My name is Sinead Murphy and I’m fortunate enough to say that I am the Chair of MUPS for the upcoming academic year, 2007-2008. MUPS may not mean a great deal to you at the moment, but I can assure you that, as a Pharmacy student at Manchester, MUPS will become a word that will become part of your everyday vocabulary. MUPS is the organisation for Pharmacy students at Manchester: simply meaning Manchester University Pharmaceutical Society we’re the society that, once you become part of, will aid you in making friends and building good relationships amongst your peers in your own year, and in the other years, by means of social events and sports teams etc. This networking is an essential part of Pharmacy…at the end of this short path on becoming a pharmacist you’ll be expected to network and integrate in teamwork, in any number of situations. As a member of MUPS you will have immediate access to any advice relating to all of your academic and social needs. Throughout the year we will organise a range of social events. There are a few regulars on the drawing board, for example the Fresher’s Party, Hallowe’en Party, The (famous) Xmas Revue (undoubtedly the best party of the semester!), The Pharmacy Annual Ball (always an extravagant affair!) as well as the annual Alton Towers Trip and there are more being planned! We’ll be there to greet you on the first day of Term…at the Fresher’s Lunch Party, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet us and register for MUPS. So if you’ve any questions, feel free to ask!!
