Student Societies

The Student Fair is a great place to meet all our societies, but don't worry if you miss it, you can join all year!

Societies

Looking to find like-minded students?

Pretty much most of your interests, and some you didn't know you had, will be catered for by the UMSU societies. At UMSU we have an ever-increasing range of societies so there is lots to try out and do. Joining a society is a fantastic way to try out new experiences and meet people with similar interests. Living in Manchester, it can be overwhelming with the endless list of opportunities to get out and try new things. Societies are a great starting point to keep active in Manchester.

So what do societies do?

The activities societies put on are student led and decided by the society's members. The sort of things you can expect from societies are meetings, trips, film showings, socials, demonstrations, debates, talks, forums, club nights, pub crawls and much more. At the end of day it will depend on the type of society, whether it has a campaigns focus or a more social basis.

Email activities@umsu.manchester.ac.uk or visit the Student Activities Centre (in the Union basement) for more information.
