Alternatively, you can get the Society Starter Pack from the Student Activities Centre.

Every society has to be run by an elected committee, including a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, all of whom must be registered University of Manchester students. You will need each person's library card number and their signatures will be required throughout the registration forms.

Societies must have 30 full-time or part-time University of Manchester student members to be recognized. Only names and library card numbers that are clearly printed and individually signed will be accepted.

In addition to setting up a committee you must also nominate 2 people to be cardholders who will be the only members of your society who can book resources.

Once the pack is handed in, it will be checked and submitted to the Societies Committee.

We encourage anyone thinking of starting a new society to come into the Student Activities Centre and talk to us about your idea. It's also a good idea to join the Society Organizers mailing list to stay updated.
